Monika is a designer based in Auckand, New Zealand where she lives with her husband and three young children. Monika has worked as a designer for IDEO and BMW Designworks USA both in California and more recently returned to New Zealand where she established her own design company Chalk Designstudio. Monika has been on the Advisory Board for Better By Design- helping New Zealand companies increase their international competitiveness by integrating design principles across their business.
Monika is passionate about design thinking, photography and learning from children at play. She is excited about the developing integration of creative systems-thinking into childhood education.
Monika created Child’s Mind : Innovation to share what she sees as the fascinating creative world of children’s minds and the parallels to her own profession. She hopes others may be inspired to help nurture their children’s creative confidence for life.
